Italia '90

Undoubtedly one of the most memorable World Cups for us boys in the 30 odd age group. The sound of Pavarotti, virtually ALL lads decked out in either white, red or blue England shirts ( which one did you have? ) paired rather inappropriately with tailored trousers and an England side which did us proud ( Shilton, Parker, Walker, Pearce, Gazza, Waddle, Lineker, Barnes ( ?)  etc ) The photo below was taken in Monroes Bar ( remember? ) before ( or maybe during ) the England and Holland game, remembered for the goal that never was - the ball hit the back of the net, the pub erupted, lads spilled onto the streets stopping cars, dancing etc finally returning indoors to see the score as it was - fkin linesmen!
