Brussels
An excellent location - when you know where to go!
Travel is usually by plane which means, by default, airport bars and general mischief but the ferry option would also be viable. It's a train journey from the airport to Brussels itself, afterwhich its a case of 'find your accommodation.' We stayed in a predominantly 'gay' area which turned out ok as our 'local' ended up serving us with a selection of pretty mean cocktails.
The search for 'gentlemen' bars found us in some establishment where the so called pole dancers wore jeans, trainers and a jumper ( nice )
As a result, the second day saw us grab our passports and catch a short train ride to Amsterdam, only to discover ( from the carriage) what we had been searching for the previous evening.
Highly recommended: Brussels Nord
Avoid: Flashing yer cash in the above
