The Dogs

Ideal as a prelude to the main event, or just a 'one nighter, ' a trip to the dog track is a 'cheap 'n' cheerful' evening, ideal for those who don't want anything too posh. Advice would be to book your party in in advance as there may be special offers available for a group. For example, for a nominal fee our local dog track offers a package like this: Entry, racecard, a pint, a 'meal' and a quid bet, all for around a tenner.

'....this has been one of the best days I've ever had.................you lads are class..........'

The above is a quote ( subject to my 20 pint dulled memory) from a new staggager, suitably embraced into the staggage culture who basically LOVED IT. Yes, we are class and Tinny yet again proved himself to be an excellent stag - it's a shame he has to get married really!

Although this was a one day staggage, the day was divided into two parts with double stag points being up for grabs by those attending both halves.

Departing to Hull on the train 'Champagne Charlie' Briggsy produced some, er, Champagne to enhance our already luxurious journey in the first class carriage, it soon became apparent that those taking part in the whole day would be a complete mess by the time they set foot back in Driffield. Merriment continued until the boys commenced their pilgrimage to the KC to see the Tigers' first home game which was convincingly (ahem) won by a blistering shot from just side the penalty area by Stuart Green.

It was yet again during that 'quiet' period between 5 & 7pm that damage was done. The locals of the Halfway House looked bemused as photos were taken 'in their territory' with equipment which probably had more value than their houses, the bus came and we set off to the dogs.

Blessed with a 'suite' to themselves including their own bar and tote, the staggage continued. There is photographic evidence of 'shoulders' and 'arses out' - when will we ever learn?

On the way back Tinny got naked and there was a rousing singalong including the ever popular 'Music man' conducted by yours truly before the staggers staggered their seperate ways................................
