| It's fair to say that more than a few eyebrows were raised when it was decided, way back in the early part of 2003 that we were to staggage in Prague. Needless to say 20 odd lads put their names down and grabbed the old school atlas to check just where the heck it was!
As usual, the group included staggagers with a variety of experience which was discussed in great detail in football parlance over what has to be said was very cheap beer: Representatives of the Champions League, Premiership, Divs 1 - 3 were in attendance, together with a few non-leaguers, all of whom, it must be said, had a good game!
The group was divided into two hotels, in what can basically be described as the North/ South divide. Whilst the stag (Barry) and his party revelled in sheer luxury accommodation which (apparently) boasted a gym, swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi - not to mention the maid 'service,' The Champions League boys slummed it accommodation so sparse there was an echo when you spoke!
Big beers were generally extremely cheap - 40p - and were of an exceptional quality, although despite all the big build up talk, a certain Asian looking geezer who works for Paul Smith proved himself to be a total beer puff - a dodgy hotdog, yeah right!
The sights of Prague were impressive, not that all of us did the tourist thing and it's certainly a step up ( culture wise ) from Amsterdam.
The bars of Prague are generally of a decent quality, all boast lovely girls who come up to you and ask you if you want anything - it's a staggage heaven!
Recommended: Atlas Bar
Avoid: Street Gypsies - they'll 'ave your phones!
